It is certainly not pleasant when an appliance is not functioning properly, especially when it is a buzzing sound that is continuous. The problem you describe with the buzzing sound is not uncommon and can have several causes.


You may want to go through the following steps:


  • Check Voltage Settings: Make sure the bell transformer and the doorbell are compatible in terms of voltage and power. An incorrect match can lead to this kind of sound problems. The Smart-ring20 is designed to be used as widely as possible. It is therefore possible to connect a bell transformer with AC or DC voltage.

    This may have a voltage between 8-24V and we recommend connecting a bell transformer with at least 1A


  • Reset the Doorbell: A simple reset can sometimes solve minor technical problems. You can reset the Smart-ring20 by pressing and holding the reset button for about 10 seconds. The reset button is located at point 6 in the picture below.
  • Interference: Check that there are no other electronic devices installed close to the doorbell that could potentially cause interference.


Should all this not give any improvement, you can register the doorbell for service with your retailer.
