The WS-1700 does not have a DCF receiver, so the date and time have to be set manually. First, press and hold the set button for 3 seconds. When the big numbers are flashing, you can set the year using the up and down buttons, to 2020. To go one step further, press the set button briefly each time, see the whole section under Setting the time and date: Please note, you must do this before the flashing of the screen stops, because then you are already out of the programming menu, this is quite fast.
