What does the Alecto WS5100 measure?

The Alecto WS5100 measures six weather conditions: temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind speed, wind direction and rainfall. Temperature and humidity are measured both indoors and outdoors.

Can I connect the WS5100 to an app?

Yes, the WS5100 can be used with the Nedis SmartLife app. This allows you to view current weather data on your smartphone or tablet. The app also offers graphs, historical data and notifications when set limits are exceeded.

Which app do I need for the WS5100?

Use the Nedis SmartLife app. It is available for Android and iOS. The installation manual also includes a QR code to download the app.

Does the WS5100 work with 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

The indoor unit uses Wi-Fi in the frequency range of 2412–2472 MHz, which is 2.4 GHz. Therefore, use a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network when connecting the weather station to the app.

What is the range of the outdoor sensor?

The wireless outdoor sensor has a range of up to approximately 100 metres. Please note that walls, windows, metal objects and other sources of interference may reduce the actual range.

Can the indoor unit be placed outdoors?

No. The display/indoor unit is intended for indoor use only. The outdoor sensor is intended for outdoor use.

Can I mount the display on the wall?

Yes, the WS5100 can be placed freestanding on a table, shelf or cabinet, for example, but it can also be wall-mounted.

Does the WS5100 have a weather forecast?

Yes, the WS5100 displays a local weather forecast. The weather station also shows the maximum and minimum temperature.

Does the WS5100 have an alarm clock function?

Yes, the WS5100 has an alarm clock with snooze function. The display also shows the date and time.

Is the time set automatically?

Yes, after connecting to Wi-Fi, the WS5100 can automatically calibrate the time. This means you do not have to keep adjusting the time manually.

Can I set alarms or notifications?

Yes, you can set a temperature alarm, among other things. Via the Nedis SmartLife app, you can receive notifications when set values are exceeded.

Does the WS5100 also show rainfall?

Yes, the WS5100 has a rain gauge. This allows the weather station to record the amount of rainfall.

Does the WS5100 display wind direction and wind speed?

Yes, the WS5100 measures both wind direction and wind speed. Wind speed can be displayed in Beaufort or m/s, among other units.

Are batteries included?

No, batteries are not included.

How should I position the outdoor sensor for accurate measurements?

Place the outdoor sensor securely on a stable surface or pole. Unwanted movement, for example caused by wind, may result in inaccurate measurements.

Can I clean the indoor unit with water?

No. Do not immerse the indoor unit or outdoor sensor in water or other liquids. The indoor unit must not be exposed to water, rain, moisture or high humidity. Do not use aggressive chemical cleaning agents when cleaning. A slightly damp microfibre cloth is sufficient.

Is the WS5100 suitable for professional use?

The WS5100 is intended for household and similar use. It is not intended for professional use.

My Samsung Galaxy does not show notifications from the Nedis SmartLife app.

When the Samsung smartphone is locked and in sleep mode:
